It starts in SEMCO's own foundry
SEMCO controls every step of the manufacturing process in-house.
Beginning in its own beryllium copper foundry, all tips are melted in electric induction furnaces that carefully control metal casting temperatures for achieving alloy integrity.
CNC Machining
Tips are precision machined using CNC lathes with state-of-the-art control to meet exacting tolerances. Numerical control is maintained for quality assurance and traceability.
Environmental Safeguards
Some of the most important quality measures are repeatability and reliability. SEMCO has made significant investments into one of the industry's most advanced pollution control systems. This means that our customers can rely on our manufacturing processes to be in compliance with EPA and OSHA standards.
Metallurgical Laboratory
To assure hardness properties and alloy integrity, SEMCO maintains an advanced metallurgical laboratory. A Spectrolab Spectrometer certifies every tip for alloy composition. Dimensional testing is also done to further assure optimum product performance, in other stages of the process.
Largest Inventories
SEMCO maintains emergency inventories for many of its clients as well as stocking a wide assortment of common tips for fast shipment. In fact, SEMCO maintains the world's largest inventory of plunger tips. SEMCO works with its customers to establish ordering and inventory programs that eliminate potential downtime and assure casting productivity.
Continuing Investment in Manufacturing Quality
SEMCO maintains a proactive policy for manufacturing improvements. In the last 18 months, SEMCO has increased plunger tip throughout by 50% increasing the industry's largest tip inventory. Helping customers achieve maximum productivity is not just a marketing slogan, it's how we run our business too.
