Semco's commitment to quality is evident in its beryllium copper plunger tips. For maximum service life and shot sleeve performance, beryllium copper has no equal as a base alloy for plunger tips used in the aluminum die casting.

Semco's beryllium copper plunger tips are harder and stronger than those of other alloys, promoting a longer shot tube life with an extra margin of safety and permitting closer tolerances when grinding to finished dimensions. Unlike other alloys, beryllium copper is age-hardenable, allowing the plunger tips to be annealed to a uniform strength and hardness, while retaining sufficient ductibility for longer shot life.

Semco beryllium copper plunger tips are available in two alloys: BE-10S and BE-20. These alloys will outperform and outlast no. 14 alloy because the higher beryllium content provides added hardness and the addition of cobalt provides longer tip life.
